12 years old!?!?
Obviously not his greatest show ever, but good nonetheless. The quality isn't great and some songs are lacking, but keep in mind this is a few weeks before his 13th birthday. This show doesn't compare to his other stuff, but its just a great piece of history. The kid can still play some incredible solos at the age of 12. For true Trucks fans only.

The Joys of Youth
Despite the rough edges, this is Southern bar band rock about as good as it gets--when the leader was 13 years old. The slide work has plenty of snarl but too much sting for my tastes, which may be the fault of a mix that generally has too much top end and the leader's guitar too out front. Hendrix, Duane Allman, and Stevie Ray Vaughn fans nevertheless could find a lot to like here. The "Layla" cover is best forgotten, but the others generally add improvements to the originals, notwithstanding occasional flat notes and overindulgences. Would rate it four stars with a better mix.
